Charity Silent Auction

Madison Marriott West, Madison, WI

Our WCSEA Fall Conference host- Dane County Child Support has selected Food For Thought Initiative as the 2019 Charitable Organization

The mission of Food for Thought Initiative is to improve food access and alleviate hunger among Madison public school students and family.

  • 1 in 5 children in Wisconsin live in a food insecure household.

  • 50% of Madison Metropolitan School District students qualify for free and reduced lunch.

  • Research unequivocally demonstrates hunger impairs health, learning, behavior, and the ability to attend and focus.

  • Through Thea’s Table, a weekend meal program, and their In-School Food Pantries, Food for Thought Initiative aims to reduce the impact of food insecurity on school children and their families.

If you are considering a donation for the silent auction - below are a few details:

  1. Donations can be a basket, box, wheel barrel, truck full, or standalone item.

  2. Donators should create an Announcement or Display of your donation.

    • Be sure to clearly write the estimated value of the donation on your announcement and list the items in your basket.

  3. Send an email to Becky Fry with the title and description of your donation prior to conference so that we can create enough room for all the wonderful donations.

    • We also use this information to make the Bid Sheets.

In addition to the larger donations that will be part of the silent auction, we are asking that each Child Support Office donate ONE item (wrapped) for the “Mystery Baskets” that we will be selling raffle tickets for throughout the conference. The proceeds from ticket sales will be donated Dane County Charity of choice. The size and cost of your donation is up to each CSA.

NEW RAFFLE TICKET SALES - Individual tickets will continue to be sold for $5 each for your chance to win a Mystery Basket (containing several individually wrapped mystery gift donations). We will also be selling tickets in multiples: 5 tickets for $20; 10 tickets for $40.
